Goblin Valley is known for its mushroom shaped rocks called hoodoos. During the day these hoodoos can be seen in the thousands. It is one of the largest collection of hoodoos on the planet. Walking among them one can't help but imagine themselves on Mars. At night, it is easy to see how the park received its name. The small hoodoos look like collections of goblins and some even seem to have faces. Walking among them with a headlamp casts shadows that make the hoodoos seem to move about you as you pass; a truly eerie feeling! Isolating a composition can be tricky but when successful the outcome is astounding. In this image I used two external lights to highlight what I called the two "Guardians of the Labyrinth".  These large hoodoos stand near the entrance to the valley and seem to keep watch over the surrounding area as they are two of the taller hoodoos in the area.
